Place to camp around Big Bone

Heading to Big Bone in a couple of weeks and plan on camping. I called the state park and they really don't want anybody with a boat there. They said there's not enough room. I asked if they allowed campers and RV's and they said yes. They said they'd try to fit me in. I don't see much different between a boat and an RV. Is there anywhere else around there to camp? I know about General Butler SP but I don't want to drive 45 miles.

the people who run the ramp have camping there t the ramp
You can camp at big bone state park with a boat they cant stop you most that camp there bring boats smaller but still boats there is a koa in richwood bout 20 minutes out

I fish Big Bone all the time and they usually have room at the ramp to camp. Don't plan on getting any food during the week there, so bring plenty of food and beverages.

You must have spoke to the wrong person because everyone I know that camps uses the park when they fish out of big bone. Did you call the camp ground or the ramp. The camp ground just started taking reservations recently, so I can't see why they would not like you there. Try again, besides that there is a KOA off the Walton exit just about 10 minutes from the ramp. Are you fishing the KBF in 2 weekss?

I will be fishing the KBF up there.
I first spoke with the person who answers the phone and she first told me they didn't have room. I then asked for the park Mgr. I told them that I've camped at state parks all over KY and never been told they don't accept 21' Bass boats. They said they would TRY to make room for me. They said their campground wasn't very big. I can't see how it's OK for 20 to 40ft campers being pulled by a dually and a 21ft boat pulled by a truck. Anyway I made reservations and if I don't like it, I will camp at the KOA. Thanks for the help guys.
