    RE: Where to stay

Slept in my truck at the narrows campground Sat night. With the price of gas, who can afford a motel room. It was actually o.k. Slept well, got up, made a pot of coffee. Tournament started at 6:30. BY ONE I HAD WRECKED MY LOWER UNIT AND MAYBE DAMAGED THE POWER HEAD. Why does this stuff always happen to me? I do everything I can to take care of my things and this is what I get.

I usually sleep in my tahoe, but I stayed at the state park saturday night. I must say it was very nice, and if you work for the state it also carries a very nice discount on the room. It's about 4/10 's of a mile from the ramp which has free launching.

    RE: Where to stay

I uswed to stay in Glasgow all of the time, but this last trip to Barren I stayed in Scottsville at an Excutive Inn for $55 a night. Parking was good, room was good and it was only about a 10 mile drive to the Peninsula ramp--which is a good ramp and good parking lot. Also, you get to pass by Ranger Bob's which is a great little tackle, food, gas store. I was able to eat breakfast at 3:30 in the morning, fuel up my boat and truck for cheaper then anywhere else around and was also able to find some more tackle which I so desperately need---LOL!!!! NOT! LOL.
I would stay there again. Glasgow may have a few more places to eat---but that's about the only trade-off. Oh yeah---if you wanted to put in at the State Dock, then it's not that far from Scottsville either.

I do know the Days Inn raised their prices to 70 bucks a night..I'll sleep on the concrete at the ramp in a sleeping bag before I'll pay that again
