Jim PROVES Why he is Editor of Fishin.com

    AND NOT A PROFESSIONAL Fisherman..LOL..
Wellll the third annual fishin.com Get Together and Fishing Tournament was held today and I must say.. Franswa did NOT win for the 3rd year in a row. Matter of fact I beat Franswa by .05 pounds... and came in 6th.
    Winning poundage was 3.99 pounds.
I will let Silver Ranger post the official results, but wanted to be the first to make a post about the wonderful 10 boat tournament and the 20 person turnout at the 3rd annual Get Together.
I managed one GIFT fish from the Fishing Gods... it committed semi suicide by hanging on to my Pumpkin Green Bungee power worm long enough for me to set the hook. About 10 seconds if I recollect correctly.
Darn if it had only been 3 times as big I would have taken 2nd place.

    And Danny proves....

He fishes worse than Jim D.!!!!!

Man, that was hard to type.... LMAO

Despite what a certain person, who did not fish... but showed up to talk trash afterwards says... Barren is not a great lake to fish!!!

Caught a lot of dinks.... but man, keepers were few and very far between. If not for slot fish, I don't think there would have been but two fish weighed in!

Danny don't feel too bad. I had to beat someone.. or I would have been fired. Peter told me if we did not weigh a fish he was finding a new guide for Barren to fish with. So I had to catch something..
OF COURSE Peter proved why he is the owner and not the editor.. he boated an 8 incher.

    RE: And Danny proves....

Oh Jim, guiding was easy. Ask my partner. He caught two keepers, just not big enough to get in the money!!

5 hours and no practice just is not long enough to learn a lake and find the fish unless you just luck up on them.

I vote to have it at KY/Barkley next time. Surely we can get at least 15 folks to show up there too!!

Think about it, we picked Barren because it was central, and were any Eastern KY guys there? I think we can move further west to a much more productive lake next time.

    One more HUGE THANK YOU!!!!!!

I want to thank everyone for their contributions of lures for little Tony, and the cash for his sister who gave of herself for her brother.

We were fortunate enough to collect a very, very nice bag of lures, plus... now get this... $75 in donations for an American Express Gift check to help replace the lost toys of the little sister.

But that's not all. While the total was $55, Jim D. agreed to match the first $50 of donations for the Gift check. That means in addition to little Tony getting a bag of lures from fishin.com, plus pictures from the get together, but his little sister will get an American Express Gift check in the amount of $125 to help replace her lost belongings.

For those of you who don't remember or are not familiar with what I am talking about, Jim posted a request on here for little Tony. The young man is an avid fisherman, who has luekemia. Huricane Katrina destroyed the family home, it is almost rebuilt now, and Tony lost all his fishing tackle. Then his luekemia came back, and he needed a bone marrow transplant. His little sister was the donor to save his life. The call came out to all outdoorsmen and women to help by sending Tony a picture of themself with a fish, and a new lure. No mention was made of his sister. Someone on this board pointed out how painful the bone marrow donation was, and that she too lost everything. So, we took up money to send her the American Express Gift check.

This entire package will be sent by Jim D. on behalf of all fishin.com members.

Again, thank you to everyone at the cookout for giving so generously.

Jim, on the front page where you have the pics, you have one showing the winner, but have the wrong name ... His name is Harry Stewart, and he was Francis's partner.
