Those guys will have lighter checkbooks when they leave. I wander if they get thier boat back?
I wander how many folks took the time to show?

The cheaters waived their right to the arraignment and did not file a plea of guilty or innocent. They have a court date set for June 20 where their case will either be plea bargained through the attorneys or there will be a trial by jury. I will post the time for the court date as soon as I find out. There were probably 20-25 fishermen on hand today. No mention was made about where the confiscated boat is now or whether they will be allowed to get it back. I encourage every fisherman who these boys have stolen from for the last several years to head to the Trigg County Circuit Clerk building next month to join us in showing both of them just how much we think of their antics.
This is not in stone, but it has been said that the KDFWR has been in contact with ESPN and will release a copy of the videotape to Bass Center when the trial is over.
These guys have definitely got whatever is coming to them. Unfortunately, it will never be enough!!
amen
Thanks Birdman! I'm in St.Louis but I'm going to make an effort to get down there on the 20th. Maybe I can get a little fishing in while I am there.
Awesome

LAST EDITED ON May-17-06 AT 10:37AM (EST)[p]Never enough is correct. They need to stick it in and break it off on these guys. Really make an example of them for future precedence and put them on the fast track to justice my friends.
i think they should take their rights of purchasing a fishing license. dont need guys like this on our waters. bad part about the whole thing is open buddy tx's that are for a good benefit or fund raisers are going to suffer. i myself will think twice about getting into a big money buddy tx. hope this makes these few cheaters out there think about what there doing or have been doing and understand we as anglers arent going to put up with this garbage anymore. keep it real and honest.
I fish Barkley quite often and am curious... what is this all about? who are the Barkley cheaters? What happened? Just askin'
I'm sorry, due to incliment legal conditions we are unable to discuss the aleged "incident" untill all those involved explore all their legal options. This includes all apeals and legal manuvers up to and including the Supreme Court of the United States. Untill then there never was an incident, there are no "cheaters", and untill confirmed by a sworn witness in a court of law, there isn't even a "Lake Barkley". Please continue to live in self induced and legally perpetuated naiveté. Move along son, nothing here to look at.
Keep on chuckin'

To answer playin-hooky's question, a couple of guys got caught weighing in fish from a fish basket they had tied to a dock on Barkley during a tourney. Their equipment and boat were confiscated and they are currently being prosecuted. Paducahsun.com did have a story, don't know if it's still up or not.
