I have been hearing that some smallmouth have been caught on Taylorsville Lake, anyone know what part of the lake they were caught? (Up in the river, or down near the dam???)
Thanks, Greg

I FISHED TAYLORSVILLE FOR AROUND 12 YEARS AND TO THIS DAY I HAVE NEVER CAUGHT A SMALLMOUTH BUT I HAVE SEEN THE PICTURES AND HEARD THE REPORTS OF THEM BEING CAUGHT. MAYBE ONE DAY ILL GET ON THEM AND FIND OUT WHERE THEY ARE HIDING. GOOD LUCK AT THE FISHLESS PIT!!!!!
When the t-ville first was impounded i saw several nice small jaws caught as well as relly nice ky's.rolling fork, beech fork and salt river all had a good population of spots and smallmouth and when they flooded i'm sure the fish migrated then when taylorsville was made it ruined the small jaws...rough had them too if you remember as well as nolin just don't do well in the dark shallow lakes.. learned a lot of bassin on rolling fork and beech fork.still catch a lot of nice crappie and spots.
As lakes age they go through a transition. Early on they are better suited to LM but as they age they get better and better for smallmouth. The mud washes away and leaves the gravel and rock. Best Example is Kentucky Lake and the Smallmouth Revolution there.

Thanks guys for the info,
Took a friend to T-ville this morning, fishing was tough, thick fog until about 8:30, caugth 3 dinks. I was very suprised, not very many boats on the lake today.

i caught a 4.15 smallie on the main lake, i have seen 3 or 4 more turned in in the TnT's.
