    Need a prop shop.

I live in Frankfort, KY and there are no local prop repair shops that I know of. Does anyone out there know of a nearby shop to where I could send my stainless prop to have the dents, dings and bends removed from the blades.

    RE: Need a prop shop.

call Mark crofton, he is somewhere in Indiana. I just had my 26 Tempest redone by him after Precision propellers in Indianapolis tried twice to fix it right and couldnt. He turned it around in 24 hours and it nows runs better then it was new. He doesnt even ask to be paid first. Send him the prop and he will send you the bill. Great prices also. If you want it to really run, have it blue printed. His number is 317-398-9294, you wont be disappointed.

I would go to Tucker's Landing in 1545 Progress Way in Clarksville IN. His number is (812)283-4500. I was referred to him by many people and do not regret taking their advice.

    RE: Need a prop shop.

I have never used Marks Prop service but I do know he has a very good reputation. I have used The Prop Shop in Campsville. I had some minor scratches and some small knicks. I had a 24 pitch cleaned sharpened and balanced and I think I paid $75 The number is 270-465-2068. Many people have also recommened Proper Props in Bronston. I have heard rumor that he went out of businness his number is 606-561-6005 not for sure if he is still in business but The Prop Shop in Campsville is and they done a good job for me.

    Re: Need a prop shop.

I used Marks Prop shop in Shelbyville Indiana and was very satisfied with quality of work as well as service. I had previously hit my prop on the concrete ramp while loading boat at Taylorsvill Ramp (Possum Ridge) because I did not trim my motor up. The ramp ate about 1/2 inch from each SS blade and really hurt the top end speed as well as added viberation. I sent it to Marks in June of 06 and had the prop repaired and blueprinted which was money well spent. To be honest I shipped it out again today to Marks because during this low water condition I managed to hit a rock when backing out from a ramp because I again did not trim my motor up when in shallow water.
