    HELP ON CUMBERLAND CONDITIONS

Could somebody (who don't hate me) tell me how C-land is looking RE: Drift. Wife and I looking to make a trip starting Monday 12 Jun 06. Last I was there was 8-10 and drift was hefty then. Could ya tell me how the lake is now, and does it look like it will clear up soon? Let me know if its just main lake that has the major drift, and if the creeks are clearer than the main lake.

Okay, too confusing, I'm bad about that. So, let's try this.

    a. There is drift on the lake....True, False, or HUH?
    b. The average size of the drift is......Bigger, Smaller, or equal to a refrigerator.
    c. In 3 miles of running on the lake I saw......5, 10, or 20 or more refrigerators.
    d. There is more drift on the main lake, then in the creeks.....True, False, or "I'll ask my wife when she gets back with my boat".
    e. If a Jet-Ski ran across from Jamestown to Wolfe at full throttle, it would......Never be seen again, or have a great fun time, or incur minor dinges and scrapes.
    f. In the past week, I have seen......no full trees floating in the lake, or 10 or more full trees floating, or decided to mount chain saws below my docking lights so I could hack my way to and from a good fishing spot.
    g. At the dam, I saw.......1 school bus and 2 pickup trucks stacked up in the drift, or 3 logs but they were big ones, or 1 small piece of drift wood, but if had a really big butterfly on it.
    h. If I went 100 yards outside the no wake at J-town, and used a 7 foot medium heavy rod, with 14lb Stren, and a really good Penn Spinfisher, and cast a 2 ounce sinker as far as I could........ The sinker would hit water, or the sinker might hit water, or the sinker would hit "WOOD".
    i. Given the question above, the fishing line, at the exact time the sinker hit the water would be stretched across,.........Water and only water, Water and some wood, enough wood to completely rebuild the docks at J-town, with enough left over for a good campfire.
    j. Last week I saw.......5 beer cans float passed my boat, 24 beer cans float by my boat, or "I don't throw my beer cans in the lake"
    k. Hurricane Bob...........Apparently didn't get enough sleep last night, or Must have bumped his head again, or Needs to stay clear of the Makers Mark in the middle of the week.

    RE: HELP ON CUMBERLAND CONDITIONS

Bob, here is what I know. I haven't been down in awhile but alot of guys I know have. Drift is starting to clear up some but is still there. A couple of weeks ago it was horrible, they said it was some of the worst many had seen in a long time. Since the heaviest rains haven't hit down there for several days it's starting to clear up. Lower end of lake is in pretty good shape and the upper end is coming around. All that being said, be careful and don't let your guard down by any means, especially at night. The bite has been slowed since the lake took the dramatic rise it did, but is starting to come back a bit since the lake has stabilized. Water color is it's usual for this time of year. Hope this helps some and report back to us how you did when you get back if you go, tightlines Mark.
