Big Bass Blast-Limit Side Pot!!

The Thursday nite Big Fish Tourney at the Steel Branch Ramp in Frankfort has been doing really well! Byrl and Fred are running a great little tournament there and they have had a real nice 13 boat average over the past few weeks.

They have been paying at least $300 for first for 4 weeks in a row and that "ain't too shabby" for a three hour big fish tourney!

Entry fee is only $40 per boat and they already have around $1500 for the classic!

One thing several of the anglers have mentioned is that they wish the tournament was a five fish limit instead of just a Big Bass event. So, we have decided to try giving each team the option of buying into the "Limit Side Pot". For $20 per boat extra, you can not only weigh a fish for Big Bass, but you can also weigh up to five fish for a chance to place in the Limit Side Pot.

For example, let's say 10 boats fish the event and all ten get in the limit side pot. Your big fish weighs 1.75 pounds and you get third in Big Bass, and win $80. But you have four keepers total that weigh 5.50 pounds and you win the limit side pot and get an additional $150. Or you get second in the Limit Side Pot and get an additonal $50.

This way, every team has two chances to win!

Come on down to Steel Branch on Thursday. Registration is from 5:00 to 5:45 and tourney hours are from 6:00 to 9:00.

The tourney went well! 15 teams fished the Big Bass and 10 Teams fished the Limit Side Pot. John and Kelly Armstrong won the $300 first place prize in Big Bass and we snuck past Clark and Ellis for the Limit Side Pot. Lots of fish showing up this year on the River. Things may finally be starting to improve on the KY River.
