Hunters and Fishermen must stick together....

I just found this on the Internet...
Michigan had a ban on Dove hunting for over 100 years. A hunt was allowed 2 years ago, but anti hunting groups used emotional appeals to get the hunt cancelled until a vote is held. The Anti's are getting money from outside Michigan to advertise and promote the Pro's are getting help, but apparently not enough.
IF they stop Dove, other hunting will be next. Then FISHING.
If you have friends in Michigan contact them.. if you can donate money to organizations that will help the Michigan Effort.

Here is the paragraph from the Detroit Newspaper.

Finally, a ballot proposal to bring back a dove hunting season is trailing with 31 percent in favor and 57 percent opposed. Following a century-old ban on dove hunting, the state had a limited dove hunting season in a few counties two years ago. But opponents won a legal stay against hunting doves. A yes vote would allow the hunt; a no vote would continue the ban.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-14-06 AT 01:19PM (EST)[p]I think that article has been printed and reprinted several times. Did it have a date on it? I've read that a long time ago in the North American Hunter magazine. I think it's been in the Ducks Unlimited magazine as well.

I just wish everyone could adopt the "You do your thing, I'll do mine" philosophy.
