Need some feedback on new site

I am building a fishing book store.
It will have books by state, and species as well as videos, magazines, and videos and DVD's about Fishing. I even managed to snag a coupon page from Bass Pro Shops for Fishing Tackle..
Would some of you check it out and let me know what you think of the format. It is not done, will take about a month to get all the product put together from all the distributors. You would be buying directly from Amazon, Barnes and Noble or other suppliers. I would simply find the books so you dont have to look around for them..

RE: Need some feedback on new site

On the fishing guides page - the scrolling text "Tell your guide where..." is very jerky.

Bass Pro Shop page - The lipper tools graphic does not seem to be complete - should it appear as an egg shaped graphic? Also, many of the items listed in the recent price drops section are repeated, some several times, maybe that is to represent the number available. If so, it makes it kind of repetitive and I would not normally continue reading it.

The fishing reports link takes you fishin.com, not to the reports. I would like the reports if that is what I click on, instead of having to search the page for the link that I thought I just clicked. The reports link is right there when the page comes up, I am just hard to please. Same with the fishing articles link, though the articles are a little harder to find.

Species book page - Maybe put the Yellow disclaimer above the species listed like you have on the states books page so we know that none are available yet.

Is the copyright date of 2001 listed on the bottom of the pages correct?

Is the MAPS link supposed to work? It is unclickable on the main page and not listed on the other pages. It is the only link that is not available on all pages.

Is the address listed on the advertisement and contact pages your home or office? If it is home, well... it is your home not mine. Also, if you click the "advertise on this site" link on the lower right-hand ad column, it takes you the the google adwords page. This is not mentioned on your advertising page.

Which email address do you want people to use when contacting you? The aol address or the JimWorld address linked at the bottom of the pages?

I only checked the links to pages linkable from the home page, I did not test any of links to advertisers or any links on the secondary pages, my dial-up modem makes the process too long.

Hope this helps. No major problems, hopefully just constructive criticism. I have tested software for may years, so I can be nit-picky because customers buying the software I test expect certain things. If a link leads me to beleive I will be going somewhere and I have to take one or more additional steps to get there, I usually just close the page and go somewhere else, dial-up is too much of a pain to wait and find out if there will be more hoops to jump through before I get to the final destination.

Yeah.. I need to figure out why that is.. the sentence is too loong to fit in to the format so I scrolled it.

Not sure why Bass Pro does that EXCEPT that there may be different models and they list the same name without the model number. I have no control over that . I just pick how many to show on a page.

I changed this feature and linked directly to the state contents pages on Fishin.com The Articles I need to change and will try to do that tonite.. The Amazon Affiliate is down so I cant work on species pages so I can fix that.

Fixed this.. you were dead on.

No the maps links is not yet ready.. and it was a late addition. I have a new company that will sell hunting maps and I have not decided to place that link yet. I may move it to my Hunting Guide Pages.

Advertise on Google is in the Adsense Code.. They will place ads on a specific site for a minimum cost of 25 cents. We have a couple of advertisers on Fishin.com who have chosen that and I have some on FGHP that are doing it as well. That is my office.. yeah, but I am not going to live my life in a paranoid manner. Someone is always home so criminals should not bother.

The Jim World thing I have to have to use the Formatted Page ... it was a freebie that they let folks use IF they leave that up. My email is linked to in the main section and on the Contact page.

No problem.. Most of the links are directly from Amazon and Barnes and Noble and other suppliers.. and the Google Ads I dont want testers to click on at all.. UNLESS you are really interested. It could cost me the use of Google.
