    Fishin Cedar Creek

Planning on heading down to cedar creek lake on friday and was wondering what the report is for bass. Fished it earlier in the year and did fairly well, but have never been this time of year. Any advice you can offer would help.

Go at night. Or really early in the morning and throw a double buzzbait white/chartreuse.

I don't really target bass much, but in 10 casts the other night from my kayak (I got bored catching 6" crappies)I caught a 12", lost another one and landed an 18.5" which happens to be my biggest bass ever.

Thanks for the advice guys. Congrats on the big bass! Heading down early friday morning and hope to get on some good fish. I've heard the fish are in 12-15 ft of water, has anyone had any luck there?

A couple of weeks ago caught 18,17, and 16 inch bass and they were all off the banks. I would say 8-12ft. The 18 and 17 came early on topwater, throwing over grass on a point. Lots of fun. Good luck.

Was there thurs., fri., & sat. Was hot and had bluebird skies. I did catch some on top early, but nothing to brag about. Seemed to do the best around 10am for the bigger bass. Used black and blue rattleback jigs w/ black pork frog. Caught them in 15 to 20ft deep. The best was 4.5 lbs. 19 1/4 in. long.
I mainly fished the trees lining the old creek channel around the 1770 bridge. Fished the trees on both sides of the bridge.
Did fairly good at night also. Lots of mosquitoes though.

    RE: Fishin Cedar Creek

I fished Saturday evening and Sunday morning with 2 small fish to show for my effort. I'm not very experienced on Cedar but was fishing Buzzbaits,Jigs and Crankbait. Thought I hit the jackpot when a fish slammed my crankbait only to find out that I'd been bitten by a 5lb or so catfish.

Other than not catching fish, I was disappointed with the crowds on the lake. At 6am on Sunday morning, usually 2 boats sitting on my first 3 spots that I drove to. I think you would have a better day if you were able to fish mid-week.

By comparision, fished Cumberland Monday and Tuesday morning and did much better on a lake virtually no one was fishing. Had a 21, 17 and 15 inch fish Tuesday morning once I found the right bait and right spot.
