Did the Donkey Stomper with Mando Sat morning. We hit the water about 6:10am. Paddled for a while to get downsatream. The first fish was a crappieit was about 9-10 inch. Caught it on the small crank.
It was cold. THe air temp in the 50's to start with. Had a little wind early also. To say the least is was cool.....
We ended up with 140 fish. A mix of gills, pumpkin seeds, redeyes, spots, lm, and smallies. The biggest of the smallies were 14-15in.. We again caught some 3 inchers,,,,,Good spawn!
The water level was about perfect when we got in. It was stained. It cleared up on us toward 1 pm and slowed the bite way down. Water level is only one of the many givens.
We used Huskyjerks, D and L spinnerbaits, Buckeye buzzers, Yum Craws,CASE SSS,Green Bomb, Yammie grubbs, Robo worms, and Mepp's spinners. Some caught more than others. We had a lot of fish get off. They were also pulling water for irrigation in one hole. We usually do well there, but with that pump going it wasn't happening.
Not a bad float.
