I can't answer your question about the Ohio but all of the stripers in the Cumberland River come upstream from Cordell Hull in TN.

I know the Cumberland River is stocked with trout...my questions are:
Does anyone know if the Cumberland River is stocked with Striper or do the Striper come up from Tennessee?
The Ohio River - I know kdfwr and other states biologists sometimes tag certain species of fish, track them, etc...does anyone know if fish are stocked in the Ohio River? If so, what states do the stocking?

Friends don't let friends drink and drive...or fish the Ohio River.
as far as them stocking the river I am not sure so I wont make an estimation on that, but I do know for a fact the KDFW has made some efforts to assist the spawn in the meldahl pool. There are some creeks on the KY side where they have went in and made a bunch of places for beds and really done some work in there, the sad part it every one of these creeks it is well posted to not keep bass from something like april 15-may 31 but if there is a tourney going on I always see guys running those creeks. not me, I go catch those buckeye bass, there not as bright, dont know anything about a boat, and are hilarious to listen to their accents when they are in my livewell. ROTFLMAO
just kiddin bucks, thought I might poke a little with your big football game this weekend
You big weennie!!!!! LOL!!!! Glad to see you weathered the storm and still have a sense of humor!!1 I was worried about you guys in the BG area---hope all is ok.
Mark, how did you do at the BASS weekend series T down in Georgia? I need to check on our guys and see how they did. I haven't heard about any of them walking around with their chests puffed out or spending money like drunken sailors, so they might not have done too well.
As I watched the TV station's doppler last night, I saw a tiny gap in the storm's fiercest weather about 3/4 of a mile wide go right over my house, so it wasn't bad for me and mine. I'm very thankful for that. Do you think it was because of the clean lifestyle I lead?
I am not current on this info but stripers in the Ohio are stocked by kdfw. It started in the mid-to-late 80s and through the 90s to my knowledge and I assume they are still stocking some. It is rare for them to reproduce naturally and since they still catch them in the Ohio someone has to stock them. The hybrids I understand were stocked by Ohio. The numbers are nothing like the were in the late eighties but I still hear of people catching stripers from the Ohio.

Man you are missing the best fishing in Ky ,,,Where else can you catch Stripers,Hybird Stripes ,White bass ,Largemouth ,Smallmouth ,Spotted BAss ,Walleye ,Sauger ,Saugeye ,Crappie ???And Blue ,Channel and Flathead Catfish all in the same hole??
We have had a great year on the River ...We have Slammed Striper and Hybrids all Summer
I have a Honey hole on the upper pool where we had several days where I have caught over 30 Bass in 2hrs time and 30% were smallmouth ...
Until Monday the Ohio River has been so clear and low .....Now its at 23 Ft on the lower ....but you can still catch sauger and walleye if you know where to go ...The Duck Pond is one good place when the water is high
JFW - More often than not, what ramp do you put in at the most when fishing the Ohio? I know you fish below the Hydro's, so do I occassionally...but when you go else where, what ramp do you most often use?
I copy clipped the following directly from the KDFWR website...I guess if I'd have checked there first I never would have to asked the question...thanks for your replys though!
Striped bass – Stocked in rivers and reservoirs having sufficient cool water habitat and available forage to create an additional open water sport fishery. Striped bass are stocked in June as 1.5-inch fingerlings at a rate of 5-10 fish per acre.

Just razzing the river rats jfw, my inability to catch black bass there in no way reflects how good the fishery is. I don't know the river, and have had some very rough days finding keepers above the Markland dam.
I didn't fish down there in GA. I only fished 3 out of the 5 of the weekend series. Just couldn't do it all this year. Not enough time or money to do everything. Glad to hear the bad stuff missed you.
