Well, as you probably know by now, Western KY (my neck of the woods) was slammed by tornadoes yesterday. I just got my phone and electric back on, it is around 11:00 pm here. I had no idea that tornadoes had even touched down here until I went to get some food at the local Wal-Mart. One of the ladies that worked there had a nephew that lived in a mobile home near Benton and he was killed when his trailer flipped and caught on fire and he burned to death.

While there I heard some bad news about Moor's Resort. As the crow flies, I live about 2 miles from Moor's and I had a hard time beleiving it (because of the lack of damage at my house and on the way to the store)so I went to Moor's to hear it straight from the horses mouth. The marina has basically been destroyed along with most of the boats and all of the campground. The cabins were not affected, neither was the restaurant or office. I was not allowed in to see the damage, they blocked off the road at the entrance. I talked to the guy sitting in his car at the blockade and he said that the store and the A and B docks had torn loose and were wedged against the breaker wall and basically destroyed, along with the boats attached to these docks. The parts of the docks closest to shore were severly twisted and bent and partially if not wholey unconnected and over by the breaker wall. The only boats not destrtoyed were the boats closest to shore on the part of the dock that did not come unattached. Most of these boats have been damaged.

He said that they would let boat owners in tomorrow after the have cleaned up the downed power lines and if you had a boat, call your insurance company because there is an 80-90% cahnce no your boat has been smahed to pieces.

My cable still does not work so I cannot tell you anything else that occurred around here, but one lady at the store said she had heard that there were 30 or more tornadoes in this part of the state and that Henry county TN (Paris Landing) had been basically destroyed. I do not know if that is true or not.

Anyway, please say a few prayers for these folks, they sure need it. Thanks.
