Where to buy 20hp Honda 4stroke?

I am looking for a 20hp Honda. Any suggestions or experience with Honda dealers around here ( Cincinnati, Lexington, Louisville, Somerset)? Thanks for the help.

RE: Where to buy 20hp Honda 4stroke?

The best Honda Dealer in the area is Allcraft Marine on Kellogg Avenue in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is coming from another dealer, so that should tell you something. Charlie Ho is the person you want to talk to, he will take care of you. He stocks about everything usually.

RE: Where to buy 20hp Honda 4stroke?

Mark Miller Marine in Glasgow is a Honda dealer, they have good service and a knowledgeable staff. I work for a fed. agency in KY, we use honda outboards. I used to think they were the Cadillac of outboards, but after using them for 4 years, I don't think much of them. We use them because of the ultra-low emissions. In a previous job in TN, we ran Mercs exclusively. I got to say, I think the mercs are an overall better built outboard. If I could have the Honda engine and a Merc lower unit, it would be perfect.

Hondas that I've run have quirks (like all others), but they seem to be especially finicky when it comes to letting them sit, unused. A dealer told me you should run sta-bil in the gas all the time. I just ordered a 25HP outboard for work (2 mo ago) spec'd a Honda so it would match everything else (parts interchange). Procurement told me the merc bigfoot 25 4-stroke was several hundred dollars cheaper and was recommended by a third party. Its replacing a Merc big foot that has seen its share of abuse, and still runs, almost.

    Merc 4strokes and Stabil

Your Merc 4-Stroke big foot is actually a Yamaha Technically. Mercury 115 four strokes and below were Yamaha's with Merc stickers basicly. That's why this year I'm on back order on about 10 mercury 4-strokes since Yamaha won't supply Mercury anymore since they got into a dispute last year.

You should run fuel stabalizer in your boats year round. Gas these days is poor in quality and with boat motors being a lot more technical than they used to be the fuel is really messing up engines these days. We see more engines running bad do to not running Stabill.

Engine wise, Yamaha is probably the best on the water, Honda is a good engine as well as everything else. The only one I can't say how it is is Evinrude. We've only sold a few the past couple years and they seem to be great motors, but I've not sold enough to form an opinion. We sell Yamaha and Mercury about 120 per each year brand new and they both run awesome, but the Yamaha seem to be a little less problimatic.
