Dale Hollow (Oh no another report!)

Looks like Dale Hollow received all the attention over the weekend! Made it down to The Hollow Saturday late afternoon and fished all day Sunday and Monday. Fished an area of the lake that I have never fished before (the Illwill area). Sunday boated five fish with the largest being about a 3.5 pound smallmouth. Had to estimate this one because I couldn't locate the scales until the next day. All fish caught on the float n fly. Fished the same set up looks like as elnutsmallmouth with the 1/16th ounce duck feather jig with garlic fish dope. Monday we only boated five again but many fish came unbuttoned that day before we could get them to the net. Not sure what the problem was but we were not getting as good of a hook set on the second day. On Monday our fish ranged from 2-8 to the biggest being a 3-10. Without a question lost my largest smallmouth to date on Monday off a secondary point that honestly did not look like a 'classic' smallmouth point. It was a grand fish and really made my trip, other than I was not able to get her to the net. Looking very much forward to going back down hopefully this month to give her a try again.

Nice report. I,m going soon.I will report my smallie action, also.I fish big shiners at this time and yes brown tube baits, or silver.When do the biger smallies go on the nest?I think it is closer to march than april, what do you think. GO gettem,6lb.test.
