    Cookies and the New Board

For anyone that has been following my saga of not being able to get my settings for the new board to stay after I turn off the computer and then turn it back on, I found the (an) answer. It was not a big deal nor a real problem, but it was different from how the old board worked--I could live with making three mouse clicks the first time each day that I logged onto Fishin.com, but it still bugged me.

Anyhow, just in case anyone else is having the same problem, here is what I did: I am not, by any means, a "computer guru" but I have used them long enough to know that the problem had something to do with COOKIES. So, yesterday I went to the HISTORY part of my maintence program and cleaned out all the history of cookies for Fishin.com (and a whole bunch of others also, BTW). Then I went back to the board and made my setting selections again. Then I used Fishin.com as I normally would.

That did the trick! This morning when I turned the computer on, my Fishin.com settings were the same as yesterday when I turned it off and not only do I not have to set everything up again, I am still logged on and could make this post without having to sign in.

Good Board, Peter--I knew there was an answer.

RE: Cookies and the New Board

Of course, makes sense now...LOL. The old cookies were messing you up. Stale cookies are just a pain...LMAO

Glad you got it straightened out Grumpy. I don't like making you anymore Grumpy than you already are!!! LOL

Hey, if you like river fishing, next time you come down this way, we'll try the Green river here in town!! I think it can be very productive.

    Tight lines and God Bless

RE: Cookies and the New Board

In order for you to not have to do that cookie clean-up from time to time, try raising the maximum amount of cookies stored. If you are using IE it is really simple. Just click on tools in the toolbar, drop down to internet options, click on the settings tab under temporary internet files and raise the amount of disk space. Hope this helps. CJ.
