Have you ever fished there?Thats the the first thing lol.
Biggw : yes, I have been there in the early spring the last two years straight in tourneys. The water was or had to be at winter pool as low as it was both times. Never did any good as far as catching fish neither time to speak of. Put in both times at the Rockwood ramp in king's creek. Now, that we have the preliminary out of the way (LOL) any suggestions, thoughts, or comments? As high as gas is, and as far as I am pulling to make the tourney on this lake, It would be nice to at least make a showing at the weigh-in instead of another goose egg. Thanks for anything you can giveup or throw my way...283
Hmmmmmm.....guess NOT
Info.--------- is coming soon--------
Well you are putting in at the area i like to fish, when coming out of kings you have two dog legs to your left before you get out to the main water,i like the secound one--about half way back fish those trees on the right side in the curves been real good to me.And then go to the back side of thief neck island- fish where the water starts to get deeper they love those big trees laying in the water an my best luck is with black red flake tubes small moving real slow in the limps. Now i hope this might help you out gl in your tour. biggw
whats the deal thear biggw, did it take you all day to remember the spots you fished at before. a mind is a terrible thang to waste, lol just kidding old man......Happy huntin
you might try checking in on this site, every now & then :

I Bass fished it for years, but usually in Oct/Nov. Switched over to Crappie fishing it about 10yrs ago, or so (just after the size limit went up to 18" on Smallmouth) and now fish it exclusively for Crappie (Apr/May-Oct/Nov). Early Sept should find the LMB still shadowing Shad schools, and the SMB still out on the deep channels. That's just an educated guess, though. I do know that when they're pulling water ... the Bass are more active. You might also want to check on the dam release schedule for the Watts Bar Dam. http://lakeinfo.tva.gov/htbin/lakein...bmit=View+info
With water temps in the 90deg range ... I'd expect to fish the shaded banks, until the shade was gone - then go to the deep drops or channel ledges. But, I can't guarantee that to be the right thing to do, either ... LOL!! .......... cp
Thanks guys for the reply and the info. Looks like it will be shade and trees early then move out to main lake points up in the morning. I was told yesterday if I could find some main lake humps that I would find some willing fish to bite. The guy said there was several on that end of the lake and futher down toward half moon Island. Never fished the humps before up there and don't know if I will get a chance to prefish before the tourney. If not can't spend alot of time trying to find them that day of the tourney. Maybe they will be on my map, will have to check and see. Thanks again for the info biggw and cp. I appreciate it and be safe on the water...283
