NEW BOARD : Less people using ?

Is it me or are less peole viewing this site. I have noticed that there are fewer post than usually. I think that having to jump thru so many hoops to get from one place to another has people saying why bother.Personally I don't like the new look but that is just me.

Don't see really much difference. It goes in cycles.

I don't see where thare are any more hoops on the new board than there were on the old one. You do have to set up your preferences, etc. again, but once you do that it works about the same as the old one--I think the new board is much better then the old one. Maybe I shouldn't say it (and jinx it) but the new one hasn't crashed so far. If an old codger and novice computer user like myself can set it up and get used to it--no one else should have a problem.

Can't tell you I can say for sure. Page downloads on the boards is consistant with the past. I do know that August is one of the slowest months. If there is a problem with people getting here or using the board I sure woulk like to know and I thank you for bringing this up.

I set up links on the old board to automatically bring people here if they have the old board bookmarked but I can't say for sure that the auto link is working for every of the many different bookmarks.

Maybe I should send an e-mail to all registered members with the new board location. I have always not thought it a good idea to e-mail board members before. What do you all think?

13 registered members and 43 guest viewing board right now. I have seen it as high as 65 and as low as 1 (2 including me) at 3:30 am.

I'm sure the upcoming winter blues and cabin fever will light this board up even more. Other than that things are just about the same to me.

    Peter,
Most folks(I know I do) will Google if a link doesn't work to see if the link they have is broken or has been changed.

It'll pick up once it gets cold.

I'm with Grumpy on this one. This new board is far superior to the old one, IMO. I'm not sure what hoops you have to jump through; I come straight to this page from my favorites list, same as I did on the old board.

    fishhunter....

No runtime errors here. I am not sure, but I think that is the software on your machine, otherwise how could you "debug" the issue?? Just curious on that one.

As for the links... I had all the old boards bookmarked. Each old book mark took me to a page that then took me to where I could choose from any of the forums. I guess it took me five minutes to set all new bookmarks. But since then, I've really only used one bookmark for the boards, and used the "Jump to forum" at the bottom of the page to move to another discussion board when finished with the one I am looking at.

It does seem to me we have a lot of new folks, or I should say new names. I don't know if past users could not remember their password and created a new name, or if we just have a bunch of new fisherpeople joining the fun. It's nothing to be ashamed of... loosing or forgetting your password. When I was working I 23 different passwords just for company associated applications. I built a list I kept on my wall.

As far as hoops to jump through, I've not had any. But I like the way the board is set up, I set my user preferences once, and I've been happy.

    Tight lines and God Bless

I agree. There are definetly less post and I personally think this new board stinks. Maybe I am missing something.
