Mildew Stains on Vinyl

I have a few mildew stains on the interior vinyl, (grey and white vinyl). Any body have any good home remedies? Tried a couple of commerical vinyl cleaners and mildew revovers, worked ok but still see some of the stains. Thanks for any advice (not the should not put boat up wet one either....lol)

The only thing that has ever worked for me was elbow grease.

I used several different agents, and Grease Lightening worked the best for me. However, make sure to try it on an inconspicouous spot first. Then scrub like HECK!!!

They make a product called "Goo Gone" for tennis shoes. I had the same problem with my seats. After spraying it on, use a light scub brush. After you wipe it off apply whatever vinal protectant you use. Sounds wierd but it works.

Mr. Clean magic eraser. You won't believe it, the stuff comes right off, and it's easy as pie.

Agree with the other advice so far.

Here's how I keep the mildew from geting there in the first place:
a. But a spray bottle of Fantastic Antibacterial.
b. Dump the top 1/4 of the bottle out.
c. Refill the top 1/4 with Clorox bleach.
d. Use this to periodically clean you seats, just spray on and wipe off

It cleans real well, and leaves behind the anti-bacterial stuff, as well as a hint of the clorox. Between the two mold or mildew as a darn tough time getting a foot hold. I started doing this 12 years ago on my new pontoon boat, and 12 years later the seats still are soft, and in good shape.
