Jeff: For myself I apologize if my post in anyway took away from your worthwhile activities. I looked at your website for Angler's Edge Outfitters and there is nothing listed on your site that would indicate in any way that Angler's Edge Outfitters is a nonprofit organization that is supporting such a worthwhile cause. This is what caused the confusion and is not my fault or anyone else's that may have commented here. I applaud you and your organization's efforts to give of yourselves and your time for this worthwhile cause. You should put this information on your website so that folks visit your website will know that Angler's Edge is such an organization. By the way, I might be interested in assisting you also with a trip now and then if you will contact me with the specifics.
Dave
This letter is in response to the questions that have arisen about Anglers Edge Outfitters. Really I guess it would be a response to those few who find it in themselves to ridicule others. This response will be in a bullet format to speed up the process of reading it and not to waste anyone’s time.
At Anglers Edge Outfitters we have dedicated ourselves to providing you the angler with the ultimate fishing experience. Wether chasing the ever elusive smallmouth in a wilderness stream or probing the backwaters of a lake in search of Largemouths.
We are a division of Fishing For Kids, Inc(www.fishingforkids.org) All of the profit from the guided trips we provide go back to support local outdoor programs for underprivileged children and youth throughout the community.
Comment on sponsorship by KDFWR
The Ky Dept of Fish and Wildlife does sponsor Fishing
For Kids, Inc by providing them with material for kids
to go fishing. They also provide educational materials
to us. So I thought it would be appropriate to list them
them because they do so much for us. Not all sponsorships
require money. If this has caused any confusion then we
are sorry.
Comment on how we can guide on so many lakes
Dave Stewart (one of the better guides on KY Lake) was
partially correct in saying we book trips. There is no way
we can cover all the water listed on our website effectively.
For those bodies of water we have guides we partner with in
those regions/lakes that we use on a usual bases. However
there are those bodies of water that I personally guide on
that are on the list. This is all to provide a more
enjoyable trip to our clients.
Comment on Shore lunches and disturbing Landowners on
the Elkhorn.
It is hard to disturb the landowner when its my families
land we stop and camp on or have a shore lunch during a
guided trip. For the # of times I have ahd a shore
lunch with a client or clients, lets see--- Once! Trust
me, a few whites and a catfish taken out of the Elkhorn
are not going to hurt it!
I hope that this cleared the air for those few of you who obviously had questions about Anglers Edge Outfitters and who we are. Please before you attack someone or an organization please take the time to find out more about them. Your insinuations about us are unfair and unjust and for that shame on you. Because if your comments caused someone to decide not to use our services then all you have accomplished is to take money away from underprivileged children and youth who would like to participate in outdoor activities.
If for some reason you have more questions please take the time to call me. I would be more than happy to answer in question you have.
