    ESPN College Smashmouth

Congradulations to Drew and Richard for a great job well done! EKU, UK and Murray State all did the state proud.
Drew and Richard were in the drivers seat to win this if they didn't have to change lakes. I'm speaking without knowing all of the facts so it is just my opinion. But even the best pro's would have had a difficult time under these conditions. I would like to know when they found out that they were going to be taken to this unnamed lake. On the surface it would seem ESPN wanted the HOME team to win.
Just so this message is clear....ESPN ####!

Easy now george. Yea drew and richard probably did deserve to win the event but from first hand witness if the third day had been on the river without zeroing it would have still been close. The SIU team had some **** good fisherman too and if they hadnt broke some fish off on the last day they would have been right there with them. They did an awesome job but there were some straight up **** good fishermen down there. I personally did not like the zeroing of the wieghts but I was trying to squeak in that fifth spot then I would have been loving it. The whole championship is done for one reason, to make for interesting TV, I really think it will no matter the outcome.

Thanks a lot George, that means a lot coming from you. Yeah, we had a really frustrating time on the mystery lake. We found that out the night before after the 5 teams qualified. I believe the Ark. team did have some advantage but I can't deny that they had a good bag of fish. I had an awesome time on the Ark. River and really learned a lot. Reguardless I believe we gained respect and proved ourselves on the river. It was a great experience and would love to go back to the river one day. Drew Sadler.

You guys did good Drew. I have fished that stretch of the river down there and it can be tough...I also know what it is like the first time you get on one of those little stump fields they put water on and call a lake....it can be frustrating to say the least. You guys made us folks back here proud.

How did the team from Louisville do that Plapp's sponsored. It was supposed to be Eric Hicks, but he had some issues and someone else went for him. Any ideas?? We had loaned them a 1995 Skeeter if that helps?

I think they were in tenth after the first day but failed to weigh one on the second day so I'm not sure how they ended up.

    Hey Matt,

Yea I had a replacement go down for me because of some personal circumstances that came up. But thank you so very much for letting the UofL team use a boat. We would have been up the creek without a paddle if it had not been for Plapps, thanks again for your support. But yeah the team was in tenth for the first day, then dropped after zeroing the second. Better luck next year..

Ben, good too hear from you, I wondered what happened.
The two tournaments that you speak of will be the first one on Taylorsville on Oct. 21st and the Green River tournament on 4/28/07.
These events should have full fields at both, then some. Have alot of interest in the ABA again this year and with the new regionals I expect it to grow in our area.
Hope to see you and William on the water very soon.
    George Salov

Ps: Is William going to the nationals?

Yes. William is going to Nat. and he’s looking forward to it. I think that this is going to be a very good year in the ABA this year as well I hope 87 #'s come up this year so that there is more points and money. This should be a very interesting year with the new layout. I also im planning on fishing more of the 33 tournaments this year as well but it seclude has not come out yet for them. LAST YEAR I MISSED FISHING SO MUCH IT ABOUT KILLED ME, BUT OVER THE SUMMER I HAVE LERNT ALOT OF NEW THING. I PLANE ON COMMING BACK WITH A BANG BUT WITH THE FIRST 7 TOURNAMENTS AT MY WORST 2 LAKES IT GOING TO BE HARD. I CANT WAIT TILL IT TOURNAMENT TIME AGIN. IT'S MOOR THAN A MONTH AWAY AND I FELL LIKE IT’S THE NIGHT BEFOR!!! And last year was the # the same as 2 years before and was it the same people as always or was there some new people.
P.S. Have you fallen out of the boat any more trying to show off to all those women?
    Ben
