    Fall Bite...

Hey when do you all think the fall bite will begin to pick up? I'm tired of getting up at 3:00 in the morning to to the lake and am looking forward to sleeping a little later. With the break in the weather and the shorter days when do you anticipate the daytime fishing to pick back up? I fish Rough River Lake mostly and had a couple of really good days last October.

Thanks for all of you input.

    Keep on chuckin'

We always had Labor Day countdown. Labor Day is the last big summer holiday, after that boat traffic starts getting scarce and the pressure lets up a little bit. Water has cooled down to about 80 degrees and even though there may still be some hot days ahead cool nights should bring it down even further. By first of October things should be getting right. Looking forward to fall and winter, going to be a great season.

had a friend that fished up tulles creek on rough yesterday and he said that temps were in the low 80's already. he was just crappie fishing but he said they caught several in the 10.5 inch range. usually you can say when the bigger crappie start moving back up in the creeks the bass arent far behind.

    RE: Fall Bite...

Fished a lake today and a creek yesterday. Both days had scattered fish i believe the recent rains, cloudy weather, shorter days and cooler weather have worked against my usual way of fishing. We are catching fish but they have kept us on our toes. We spent 5 hours on the water this morning and caught 10 bass, 2 blue cats (hitting soft plastics) and assorted pan fish.
