    RE: Geez...

Some good fisherman. I spent 2 1/2 days and caught 1 keeper spot and a short smallmouth. Any patterns mentioned? Just like to know what I missed and learn from my mistakes... Thx Dan

dont remember who won, yes it was an open tournament. dont know what the guys who won were doing. i would assume most fish were deep with the bluebird skies unless you were up the river where fish probably werent as deep.

    RE: Geez...

We drew #63 and the majority of the boats in the beginning went up the river. Wish we'd done that. I saw the guy with the smallie, and she was a nice one!! I caught ZIP, that's right, I stink! My partner managed two ky's on jigs and we had to drive all the way over to Caney for those. He took them on jigs and I threw everything plus the kitched sink and a few prayers. I am also interested on some of the succesful patterns just to know what I was doing wrong.

    Blessed Fishin!

    RE: Geez...

well i didnt fish the tournament thank god. I was on the lower end from Wolf to the dam. there was 3 of us fishin and we tried it all. I had 1 good largemouth on about 5 to 6 lbs and that was it. All others were non keepers. We even tried after dark and still nothing. So i do believe the fish were caught up in the river. Worst trip i have had to the big C in a long while.

    RE: Geez...

Most of the better sacks came from the lower end. Beaver creek and otter was where it was won (16lb). Second place(15lbs) came out of caney and wolf creek on channel breaks . DEEP !!!!! most of the better fish had to be needled before they swam off.... AND don't feel bad ,Some of the best fishermen on lake cumberland blanked !!!!. Heck Bill Taylor won a tournament the day before with 4 smallmouth that weighed 16 lbs , only to catch 2 small fish all day on Sat..
