Smallie With Flies In Thier Mouth

I haven't yet, but I have wondered if anyone has caught a smallie with a fly in it's mouth that it's broken off....

No, but I caught one on a jig a few weeks ago and it had a shiner hook sticking out of its throat deep hooked. Still bleeding! That was one hungry smallie. As for flys, I've never had one break off on float n' fly.

Have never caught one with something in its mouth. Have caught them with hooks down deeper, in their throats. Caught a couple that had pastic baits still attached to those hooks. Removed the plastics before releasing the fish.

I caught a 10" smallmaouth at Barkley a few years back that coughed up an 8" plastic lizard.

Caught one at Dale on the fnf that had a trailer hook from a spinnerbait or buzz stuck in the outside of his jaw. There was a big hard knot around the hook and no signs of rust.

Caught a 4 lber. at Nolin that had a 3/0 hook and plastic worm inside it's jaw that was rusty and real nasty lookin. Cut the hook off and released the fish, probably broke the line and got away from the fisherman/fisherlady....
