Even I am not ballsy enough to go on my anniversary but I did fish a tourney at Ky Lake last year during my wife's family thanksgiving dinner (She was with them in Frankfort and I did win the tournament so it was all good) I bow to your greatness (You must have the absolute best wife on the planet, well maybe the second, for my wife and the salesman had to TALK me into buying my new boat 3 years ago and it took them 4 days to do it)


You know ur a hardcore fishing nut when:
When you take a bad fall on your shoulder at Dale Hollow 2 weeks ago and can barely put on your coat, only wash your hair with your right hand because it hurts way too bad to lift your left hand up to your head, have none to very little strength in your left arm at all and you still are considering VERY VERY SERIOUSLY in going to Ky Lake on Friday to FNF all day, which takes both hands and arms to cast effectively for me. I see a whole lot of Advil, Aleve and whatever other pain medicine I can find in my short future if I do go.

Believe me I also got to go camping & Fishing for the weekend a few years back and my Anniversary was during the long 4 day weekend.... I tried to tlak her out of me going , you know since it was our like 7th or 8th anniversary...But she said no go and have a good time, she was just going to go get her that great Massage I had pre-purchased for her. She thanked me really well when I got back for that Professional Massage......

Shoot, my wife went fishing with me for a week on Reelfoot lake for our honeymoon trip. Now that's a dang keeper and a mounter. Easy, watch it, LOL. :7

Y'all kill me. Fishing on your anniversary? On your HONEYMOON? Now that's impressive.

My wife doesn't understand my fishing addiction, she just puts up with it.

I tried to get her into fishing, but she gut hooked a bluegill and that was that. I took her camping at Reelfoot pretty early in our relationship and she still has nightmares about that snakey swamp down there.

When I'm getting up at 3:00am to go fish all day in freezing weather she just gives me 'the look' and shakes her head. You know the look...equal parts of pity and irritation. The one you might give a starving 3 legged stray dog while you're feeding him a piece of good steak.

She does go out with me sometimes when the weather's nice. Makes my back deck look mighty good laying on her towel.

I know what you mean DH. My wife will have me spend 20 bucks on her fishing licence. Maybe go fishing one time a year and on that trip spend 100 bucks on accessories ( food, cause you know you got to eat, clothes cause you know you got to look good, then spend 30 bucks in gas driving 1 1/2 hours to get to the place she wants to go only to leave 10 minutes later because she ain't catching anything, which leads to me getting mad which in return leads to her getting mad which ends up in somehow it being all my fault which then leads into me sleeping on the couch for the next two nights wondering where the heck did I go wrong which I figure was taking her to begin with!!! 11 years together and I still make the same mistake every year. But in return I usually do not get to much grief from her even though she doesn't understand the passion we all have for fishing. And I guess when it is all said and done I will go thru the whole scenario again this year. So sometime this summer for at least a couple of nights anyone up for a fishin trip.
