    lessons learned

I love to fish and there is hardly anything that can get me more upset than loosin a big fish. welp today i found out my best friend is engaged. she and i spent alot of time togather. sometimes we'd go fishin. she could throw a spincast she wasn't afraid of the fish an she loved to wade the rivers. she wasn't afraid to walk through tall grass. so its 4:44am an wonderin if therers really goin to be another like her an the answer is no. well i reckon this is another reason to get my fishin stuff togather an get out there an get my mind off things. o i first saw her while i was fishin. ;(

Not possible for a guy to have a woman for a best friend. He spends that much time with a woman, he has more than friendly feelings. Don't care what political correctness dictates these days, that's just the way it is.

Us out here on the board can't help you bud. Suggest telling her how it is before it's too late. If she gives you the ole 'I love you as a friend' speech, then it's time to go fishing and try to get over it.

Have fun fishing the Pigeon River or any of those mountain streams for trout.

If that don't cure you nothing will.

Remember it's no bars and not attractants in the Park! LOL I had a CO not only look at my fly but he actually rubbed his fingers on my fly and then sniffed his fingers to see if he could smell any Dr Juice on my fly.

If you see the CO coming and have some Dr Juice on the fly just do a quick back cast and lose the fly in the top of some tall tree. It's easy to break off a fly when you use 2lb tippets. LOL Beats paying a ticket for fishing with a drop of Dr Juice on a small nymph. I never catch any trout in the Park anyway.

This time of the year the water should be up with all the rain we have been having. My last tip to Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains the water in the rivers was very low. It's aways low when I got there in the summer and fall months.

Never went there in the winter. Don't like driving in the mountains if there is any snow or ice on the roads. I don't know how they navigate those curvy and steep mountain road in the winter months.

One of my friends burned up his brakes on his car coming down from the mountain that had the ice rink on top of the mountain.

    Regards,

    Hey Man
Hang in there. I had a man tell me one time; "If you love something let it go, if it comes back to you it was truely ment to be". That sometimes is the hardest thing to do. I've been there. I am now happily married to woman that loves to fish and deer hunt. She can flat catch'em on that jig. lol Try talking to her, tell her how you feel and how much you enjoy her company. Just let her know how you really feel. Who knows.... I dont know how you are on religion... but trust in God... He wont lead you down the wrong path. I by no means is trying to offend anyone with that. Just I know where he has taken me in my life.

    God Bless. *Best of Luck*

    JignPig,
It's a sad day when we have to apologize for statements like that. State it with respect as you did, be proud and move on. I wish I could see more people testify in his honor that way. May God Bless You.

Nice touch jignpig and djd. Tell her how you feel and see what happends. If it does not work out there are plenty of fish in that big ol'lake just keep chuckin and windin and you will hook one even better. I would say ask fishgurl for advice from a woman's point of view but that may not be the best idea.
