Does anyone fish Peabody WMA for crappie? I was wanting to make a trip up there, but I don't know where to start when it comes to fishing for crappie. Anybody have any favorite "holes" up there? If you don't want to announce your spot to everyone; email me at: [email protected]
What Peabody area are your referring to? 6,000 acres or more of Peabody in Muhlenberg County and Ohio County has been sold. Most of the Ohio County areas have been gated off, and locked. This is the area out past the Echols area.
We can thank out of state groups who are looking to set up hunting and fishing ranches, or so the rumors go, for the loss of the Peabody areas. So far, I've not really seen any new gates going up here in Muhlenberg county, although we have taken a few steps to discourage all the trespassing on our land as Peabody has gotten their bond back and the land lease is over.
Good luck though, many of the pits have some great fish in them.
Tight lines and God Bless
Danny
