Sorry but I would need a lot more information than you just gave to us in order to figure out what's going on.
Who, what, when and where.
Who made this depth finder and transducer. What model are you using. How old is the unit and where is it located on your trolling motor.
Do you mean the scale is changing from 60ft to 100 ft. But is the depth staying constant or is that changing too.
Do you have a graph type or a flasher?
I think that much more information needs to be given before anyone can help.
I really don't understand what you are trying to say?
Here are some general things to check.
Clean the surface of the transducer with ivory soap. Get any oil or grease off the face of the transducer.
make sure that the face of the transducer is facing downward.
Check the Cord for any pinches or nicks and make sure that the connectors are secure.
Make sure that the depth finder is not connected to the same battery that the trolling motor is running on. Connect the trolling motor to your deep cycle and the depth finder to the starter battery and use a in line fuse on the hot wire.
If you are mounting the transducer on the trolling motor you can only go so fast when the trolling motor is in the down position.
Use a different transducer on the transom and use a three way switch to connect both transducers to the depth finder. A flip of the switch can change which transducer is being used.
Make sure that when you pull the trolling motor up that the transducer wire is not pinched, twisted or pulled.
When you connect the transducer cord to the trolling motor make sure you leave some slack in the cord so that when the trolling motor rotates it does not wrap the cord around the trolling motor too tight. This can damage the wire inside the transducer cord. The trolling motor shaft should be able to rotate almost 360 deg without pulling or pinching the cord.
Might try borrowing another transducer an hook that one up and test to see if this solved the problem. Or borrow a different display unit and see if a new display unit will work with our current transducer.
As you get into deeper water the screen scale may change automatically. if you are in 10 ft of water the zero to 15 ft scale may be chosen. If you get into 16 ft of water then the scale may go to 0 to 30 ft. In 31ft of water it will go from 0 to 60 and etc.
