I have not been to Dale Hollow before and am planning a trip. I am from Louisville. Would like some recommendations for guides for smallmouth and largemouth fishing and also recommendations on some of best places to go on the lake as far as the fishing and overnight accomodations. I could live with something rustic but my wife will be with me and I want her to be happy with the accomodations since she is going to let me do a lot of fishing. We will get going mid-April.

The lodge at the state park is very nice. I have used Greg Cary with Ky Trophy Fishing and he is very good to go out with, but he uses mostly live bait.
Keeping my wife happy definitely ranks up there with my catching fish. I hope that is not sacrilege to say that on this site.
You may want to check into getting John Davis he also has Cabins avaliable.
www.smallmouthspecialtiy.com his e-mail is [email protected].
He does a really good job and is very helpful.
If you're in Lville, go to the Boat Show, there are several marina booths that has cabin and houseboat rentals, and can also hook you up with a guide.
If the wife isn't happy, no-one is happy![]()
