    Dale Hollow Report/ Aqua-view camera

Fished Sulpher Creek area on Monday and Tuesday, conditions looked great but only caught 2 nice smallies on shiners on Monday around 8:00am.
Tuesday was tough, I tried the fly and shiners but had no luck.
I got bored so I decided to check out my new underwater camera from Bass Pro Shop, I was amazed at how good this thing works!

The water was stained and the sky was overcast so I thought I would have a tough time seeing the fish but it worked great.
I saw some big smallies and large mouths.
The fish were not afraid of the camera they even came up to check it out with one attacking it. There were several largemouths grouped together around falling timber and I'm talking big ones.
    The detail was impressive!
When the fishin is off at least I can mark some good structure on the gps and explore.

Anyone do any good this week?

Boy! Want2retire, that's my desire! I get tired of reading the posts of these guys that can fish when they want. It brings out the jealosy in me. It want be too many years now. I have been reading on the these cameras, and was wondering how good they were. Looks like they are a great toy, if the detail is that good. I am curious about the range or how far it will pick up a fish.

I got the only mo-updel they had left which was one of the cheaper ones.
It was the scout II and it does not record but it does have a hook-up for a external hand held recorder. I went to the aquaview website and they have some good footage of what you can see, I found it to be pretty close.

I was in about 20ft of water and I think it was picking up a horz range of about 6-8 feet. It was overcast with stained water. The light does not help that much during the day but works great at night, I dropped it over the side of the houseboat at night and checked it out. This makes me think that when the sun comes out and the water is halfway clear that this thing will work much better. My ticker was pumping when I saw those big sows!
It let me know that I was on the right spot even if they didn't bite. Used it for about 30 minutes and saw about 10 big fish. No problem with the details on the fish, you could even see the markings on the fish.

Man that's cool, I want one and now you can get one for under three hundred. What a tool and even if they aren't biting that's some good entertainment for sure. I might even get Mrs mhall in the boat more often with one of those, nice report.

Hey want2; I guess we're neighbors, if you consider Park City part of Barren Co. Some people don't. I fished Dale thurs and fri , caught 6 thurs with 3, 4 pounders, caught 12 today, 4-13 the largest along with another 4 even and several 3 1/2lb. Fishin minnows, very DEEP 45 to 55 ft. I caught a 2 pounder 58ft deep. Some of the pics are posted on smalljaw.com forum. If you aren't familiar with this forum, you must register b4 you can even view, but hey, you can use your same nick & passwd if you want, check it out.
