What were yall doing in '69?
I was driving my first car....1964 Dynamic Olds..We fished in local ponds, Salt River near here and Herrington Lake. Best i can recall that was the year I bought my first Ambasorter(spelling) red 5000 Garcia bait casting reel...I had been using a Johnson Century spincast...... I still remember all those backlashes.....back in the day..

Sorry guys..that was a long time ago...but bass fishing was the newest thing...
Most bass fisherman during that time didnt think that a bass would bite after the sun went down...lol....boy were they every wrong... As we all know now
And using artifical baits....A whole new subject back in the 60's...Most used live bait in this area..
Best thing I ever did was join the BASS club in the early 70's...Hey got free baits, a magazine, and the info that makes what fishing is today. This was back in the early 70's and only cost 10 bucks or less. I can still remember the smell of those Jelly Worms by Mann Bait Co.....grape... strawberry were always my favorites....Man they sure could make a young man hungry...
And this bait called a spinner bait... I had never seen any thing like this bait before...But had read about it the articles in BASS magazine.
First time I fished the spinnerbait was in Salt River....and the bass eat it up....seems like everywhere I fished this "new bait" the bass loved it.....

Went through the riots in Detroit City- got married-moved back to KY-fished pay lakes for carp an catfish-few years later rented a row boat at bryants on herrington bought a spinner bait called the stump jumper-fishing with my zebco 33 got my first ever bass been hooked ever since lol

I was in the 11th grade and dont think there was an internet. My profile said the last time I visited the site was in 1970--- gee, it seems like it was just last night!!!
