I just want to say that I have been reading this board for the past 6 years and very much enjoyed it. I laugh a lot and sometimes my eyeballs sweat a little, but I would not change a thing. Some of the techniques used in fishing, I was using about 50 years ago. Just a little different touch. My Brother (God rest his soul) and I fished every chance we got. From Cumberland to Ky Lake and in between. Up and until he died, we fished at Patoka Lake in southern Indiana. Loved every minute of it. We never caught anything big, but we also caught enough for a large fish fry. Just wanted everyone on here to know that. These are thoughts from an old retired Marine. God bless you all and keep those lines tight.

Bless you Sir;
For your service to our country. My brother was a Marine in Nam. Hope you still go fishing when you can, and welcome to the forum.
Welcome aboard to the board and thank you for your service to our country.
This is probably about the best darn website that I know of...lots of good guys here. One of these days I'm going to take some time and post some sort of picture/icon thing to go along with my name when ever I post here.
P.S. - Tontavern if you have a good ol' story you could share with us about Cumberland when ever you and your brother went there back in the day I would love to read as I'm sure some of the other guys here would too.
Thanks for your kind words.

Were you a "real" Marine or a "hollywood" Marine?

For those who don't know, a "real" Marine went through boot camp at Parris Island. A "hollywood" Marine went to boot camp in California. Both places are hell on earth, but we like to tease each other about it.

I was kinda wondering about that, thought it may be a" Marine Thing". But I understand now and my brother was a "REAL MARINE". Funny thats exactly how I remember him describing Paris Isl. (hell on earth).
