I'll be down in March and i quarantee i'll be throwing Zoom Watermelon Flukes and Zoom Horny Toads in either White or Watermelon Candy. We work the Flukes fast to the point they are flipping out of the water once in a while. Use 7ft heavy rods and braid or you will be upset as the fish either break you off or bury themselves in the weeds and then slip off. The Toads we cast onto muck or through thick vegetation, shoot when i was there in December we were fishing open lilly pad fields with the Toads and doing well (see pic).
If you put in at the downtown ramp fish around Neptune Drive all the way past the houses and docks. This area has been good for years but it does change according to how thick the weeds are. Look for beds (if that's your thing)when your anywhere that is clear enough (1-3ft) to see the sandy spots, there could be dozens in an area. Redshad and Junebug are great colors for soft palstics. Other than that if you went down there totally blind on what to do you would catch fish at this time of year. Just pray no cold front come through! Good luck!
