I like to use a spinning reel and m-mh rod with soft tip and 12lb vicious fluorocarbon ($10 for 250 yard spool).

Whats everyones opinion on a good rod and line combo for jerkbait fishing. Is flurocarbon what it cracks up to be? I seem to have trouble break fish on berkley senstation.

I prefer a loomis CBR-843 Medium w/ TD Z Series reel w/ lighter jerks (pointer 78) w/ 8-10lb P-line and for larger (pointer 100) I like the CBR-845 Med-Hvy w/ Shimano Chronarch SF w/ 10lb P-line
Lighter jerks, medium to medium heavy action rod and spinning reel with 8 to 10lb., flouro coated line. Larger jerks, medium to medium heavy rod with 10lb., test and baitcaster. Soft tip rods if you can, but with some backbone for those bone jarring smash hits, oh how I love that.
