I have a question about some of this cold weather. I fish mainly lakes in eastern Ky, mostly Yatesville. I was there in second week of January and surface temp was 47 and now the lake is froze over.It is not a very big or deep lake only about 45-50 ft at deepest. How will this cold weather hurt the early spring fishing in March?
The freeze-over shouldn't hurt the fishing, rather it should help it considerably. For more information about this go to page 4 of previous posts and look for the thread I started DOES A HARD FREEZE EFFECT NEXT SEASON'S FISHING, the last post was on 02-10-2007. Especially look at what Ryan Oster, the KY Black Bass biologist had to say.
