I've used the Champion Marine plugs in my old Johnson outboard for years and have never had a problem............as cheap as plugs are, I just replace them every year for peace of mind........

Looking to put new plugs in boat, what does everyone recommend on replacing them with. The motor is a Johnson 225 Venum.
Thanks
Brad

IMO- I would stick with what is in it now if it runs properly. I have a 200 Merc and run the NGK plugs that came with it origionally. Tried to switch and run Champions and Motorcraft, both fouled within a mile of the ramp I launched from. Fortunately I always keep my last set in the boat and could switch back. So from that point have stayed with the NGK's. Good Luck!!
NGK
IMO--NGK's for Merc's and Champions for OMC's Not sure about Yammie's
Champion QL78YC gapped at .030 is the recommended plug for this motor
