I will be going to the bassmaster memorial at High Rock in NC. I have never been an observer before, so if anybody out there has done this please give me some info. I am really not sure what to expect, since this is also my first BASS event that I have attended. So any help or pointers would be appreciated!!

I back seated at the big tournament they had on Taylorsville.I will be going to the bassmaster memorial at High Rock in NC. Take a book. Some of the guys will talk, others do not want to be bothered and want to concentrate. Take a camera. You do not have much to do. I do not think you can help other than maybe handing him a sandwich, water, soft drink etc.. NO FISHING .. unless you find a really decent pro... but none of them wants you to catch one that might give them the tournament.
I have also back seated at the Local KBF tournaments. Same thing.. except you are more likely to find a guy willing to let you fish some. AGAIN.. take a camera and send Fishin.com some pics.. and take a book or magazine.
Plan on having to pee or do your business in the boat.. NOT sure how you do that unless you take a 5 gallon bucket to do #2 in.. take plastic bags to line it. Even the pro may appreciate it.. LOL. IF the lake is way up plan on a rough ride. I am still recovering from a ride on the Ohio in 3 to 5 foot waves.. we bounced more than a superball shot out of a cannon.

Sorry can't help you out there friend, but I wanted you to know you aren't being ignored.... G/L on the info... Maybe Matt Plapp might know someone...
Hoski I sent you a PM!
I have been an oberserver twice at the Classic, twice at the All-American and during the WCF event when it was here a few years ago. Not really a lot to it, it is like Jim said. Take a book and be quiet until you figure out what kind of guy you are with.
Most of them will start a conversation with you, others won't. Some want as much silence as possible. They are all pretty nice guys, but whatever you do....don't tell them anything pertaining to fishing conditions or help them in anyway because it is against the rules.
Lastly, enjoy it. You will meet some quality people and if you pay attention you will learn something too.
