Anyone headed over to BPS today for the Denny Brauer seminar?
I am!

what time is it?
Denny Brauer is the greatest jig fisherman to ever walk boot leather.
What I thought was neat was that I saw him twelve years ago at a seminar in Benton, KY at Country Chevrolet, and his seminar back then was the same as it was today! His seminars help make a jig fisherman out of anyone...including me!
i was up there today and got to listen in for a while. stocked up on some power worms on sale. today was the first time i've ever set foot in a BPS. pretty cool place.
I reckon Denny is the man when it comes to jig fishing. I recently purchased his book titled Denny's Secret's of Jig Fishing and have already learned a lot and I'm not even halfway through it yet...some of the stuff he mentions in the book is just good common fishin' sense. I wished I would have known what time he was at BPS, maybe I could have got him to sign the book.
In the book he mentions how he hardly ever uses line less than 20lb test when jig fishing. Of course the book is a few years old and since the writing of it there have been advances made in line strengths, etc...What about some of you all, what test line do you all mostly use when jig fishing?
I got him to sign some of his jigs and got his take on florocarbon. For what its worth, he said use nothing less than 20 florocarbon when fishing a jig. Since most of the water I like to fish is clear, I like to use it. If I was fishing some of the thick stuff like they do on tour, I would probably use some type of braid. Seemed like a really nice guy. Said he puts all his fishing stuff away in October and takes out his deer rifle. Told him I completely understand as I take out the turkey calls when it is probably the best time to fish here in KY. But then again, I'm not on the road 250 days a year like he is.
