Sounds like a good idea to me, nothing worse than a bluegill swallowing a hook and too small for the frying pan.....

I read an article on bluegill fishing and the author suggested using #8 circle hooks when fishing for bluegill. Anyone tried this. Supposed to keep gills from swallowing the hook. Input please.

finding a #8 circle hook can be/maybe difficult to find, the smallest circle hook i have found is a eagle claw #6 ,L702A6,[email protected], located at catfish connection.com (hope i didn't break a rule by naming a web site) ,however if you do locate #6 circle hook please advise. it been a year since i have ordered EC#6's , number 8's might be ready available on the market now however not at CC.
Gamakatsu Octopus Circle # 8 at Bass Pro Shops. Got em' Thursday.
I was helping a lady at Wal Mart the other day looking for bluegill hooks for her grandkids for valentine day presents... great grandmother, right?? Anyway, I think they had the #6 circle hook. I was surprised to see them.
