Did anyone try it out today? I'm heading down tomorrow morning.. last week off from work and I hope to wear em out..
Everyone who owns a boat for 50 miles around was out there this weekend.
Had people short banking me and cutting in on points I was trying to fish up to. Was out there for a couple of hours yesterday but gave up and went home so my wife could work me like a rented mule. Cutting grass, cleaning gutters, truckload of mulch, etc.
Why am I mowing in March? Not complaining just thinking it's a little weird.
Barren this weekend was like dancing in a conga line down the banks, cha cha cha cha cha CHA!
I got down there yesterday. Didn't catch any LM's, but got into a buch of white bass and a few hybrids. The creel survey came by and I asked those guys what they were catching bass on, and they said that they were catching bass on long sloping banks (not points) where wood was present. He said the guys he talked to were using chrome/blue rattle traps. I tied one on but didn't catch one bass all day.
The surface temp was anywhere from 65 to 67 degrees. Not many folks out on the water yesterday, but just like any other lake, it's gonna get busy on the weekends..
Barren is as low as I've ever seen it, and they are letting almost no water thru. Normally they start to fill it back up in mid March with spring rain but we haven't had any to speak of. Early to start saying this, but we need some rain. I hope the water level is stable when the bass go on the beds.
Does anyone know when the corps is going to try and bring the water up? Have they been holding it down because of the new ramp? BTW, anyone know the status of the new ramp?
Here's some pics from yesterday (03/26/07)

Nice pics...thanks. That new ramp looks like it's going to be nice! Hope they take it on down some or it'll be useless during 'old' winter pool. Looks like it would be fine for 'new' winter pool (10 ft above old).
