    Re: What do you think?

I almost never keep fish - can't think of one in over a year and a half at least. And I catch catfish, crappie and bluegill more than anything else. I like fishing, I don't like keeping, cleaning or eating them.

Aside from that, I think that if a person is operating withing the regulations of the KDFWR, I'm fine with them keeping fish if they choose to. If they want to eat bass, and they do it legally, who are we to say they shouldn't. I don't buy the argument that bass do not taste good because they are in the same family as bluegill and crappie (sunfish family).

I agree. IMHO, bass has a delicious, delicate flavor. I remember, 'cuz I ate one like 15 years ago :-) If I'm fishing where they're fairly plentiful, I'll keep one or two legal-sized teenagers. Any lunkers I'd throw back, since those are the breeders. Problem is, I just never seem to find those lakes. I'm no biologist, but it seems to me that thinning out a few medium-sized ones helps to eliminate competition for the forage, and might encourage growth of a BIG OLE HAWG.

Well they took the size limit off Spots and so i eat the hell out of those 10 inchers and they taste good. I havent eat a LM in God knows when or a smallie. When the tourneys are goin hot how many fish a week do u suppose that gets killed makin it to the scales in the state of Ky? I think alot. Cos I see alot in the tourneys i fish. I love bass fishin but if a man catchs and eats em to have a meal more power to him. Just be legal about it.
