Sounds like fun, Billy.
You mentioned redeye - what have you been seeing in terms of numbers? It seems to me that their numbers have been way down the past couple years.

Got out for about 2hrs yesterday evening. We went to one our take outs and waded up.
Once we got past the Rio-Grande/Fish Fry/Meat Hog/ Brigade we started fishing.(No crap, they were cooking the fish right on the bank).
Caught 22 fish. A good mix of smallies and redeye. Biggest was about 12"
Fish were hitting real well on water/melon red color and clown colors.....
Gee I wonder how a clowned wonderbread would work....
Water is still low, but it does have some flow.
I'm going downstream on Sunday.

Yeah, the numbers are down. But I really would have to float that whole stretch to be alittle more accurate. We fished the end of a pretty long run that usually puts up good numbers.
Some of the smallmouth were 3-5 inches........That's real good to see.

From what I've heard, the redeye situation is better above Old Grand-Dad than below. A lot of people I talk to have the theory that the Hatchery catfish infestation from the '97 flood put a hurting on the hellgrammites and other invertebrate populations below the dam, and thus a hurting on the redeye population.
I know I miss the days when I could catch 15-20 hawg redeye in a day...
Will likely hit it Sunday morning. Probably starting a little below my swimming hole and working up to the long stretch.

I kind of like this up to the minute reporting we now get from Billy...It's like we have our own news correspondent out in the field reporting on the most current conditions. Thank ya!!!
Yep...he's the Geraldo Rivera of local creek bass fishing...up to the minute, live in the field...lol
Fired up the tractor last night and headed over the hill...Made about 10 casts. Water low and clear....No takers....
The bucket brigade has taken its toll on the hole until we get some big rain.
Billy
Not a lot happening on the streamflow gages as of 3:30am. Somw flows got a little bump, but they'll drain out in the next couple of days.
Went down over the hill last night after the rain and couldn't really visually see anything that let me believe the flow was affected.

Spotty...the rain was kind of spotty. Saw on the news lastnight where the airport in Lexington didn't record much, yet some areas in Jessamine County showed 1.25"....dude in Georgetown recorded less than 1/2", yet the East Side of Lexington got POUNDED. I figured that your creek would be coming up a touch, given that, but the sponge factor must be in full effect.
Went down over the hill last night. Made about 10 casts. Caught 2 small LM. Lots of activity. Could see a lot of small bass just swimming around. The water level maybe raised 1" but that's about it. Still clear....
