Creek Report Sun---Laced Up The Boots Tight

Got out with Mike B(JigSaw) this AM. We went to an old wadin spot that I hadn't been to in a long time. The water was the lowest I've ever seen it. Mando and I waded here a couple of yrs ago when it the flow was about 96.
We got in the water about 5:45am and waded up to the first riffle.
Then it started.////Topwater galore action.
I was using a small crank and half the fish I caught hit it as soon and it hit the water. The plastic craw also caught fish, but the pigs wanted it on top.
We ended up with 54 fish.

1 catfish
3 redeye
2 drum (1) 2lb (1) 3.5lb
3 sunfish
45 smallies...2 17", 4 16", several in the 14-15 in range as well. I would say we caught over 25 slot fish.

Not one Kayaker or canoer in sight all day(up until we left at 1pm). As bad as we need rain the fishing is awesome. This wade is a tough one anyway and a whole lot tougher in higher water....

Water conditions went from slighty stained to clear...I think the carp and gar played a factor depending on which hole you were in. It rained ever so slightly for a while and satyed overcast. That was the key....IMHO>

WTG Billy glad you had a good day on the old creek man--that was a lot fish an some nice smallies too--Its always good to have a good weekend at fishing makes the workweek go just a little better lol...
