    Nolin Catfish?

Okay people I need a little help here. I bass fish most of the time anymore. Growing up I fished for Gills and Catfish and can still go to smaller lakes and ponds and catch either most of the time. I seen a guy on Nolin Sunday dropping jugs and mentioned it to my youngest son who has decided he wants to fish for some cats at Nolin tonight with jugs. He said he thought it would be fun and wanted to try it. I have jug fished ponds and small lakes before but not the bigger lakes. I know short notice but he decided yesterday and I thought what the heck I would give it a try. He helped me make up 20 last night using the foam noodles and 60lb Spiderwire line I had laying around. I need to get a pair of leather gloves with the spiderwire LOL wanna keep my fingers. Anyway I am looking for information as to depth, bait and area of the lake to try if anyone can help. I normally would use Chicken Livers, Nightcrawlers and cut Bluegill or pumpkinseed and figure that would be the way to go but looking for advise. Thanks ahead of time for any infomation.

    Mark,

Did this the first time two weeks ago. Put out 15 noodles in Dog Creek (chunk rock bank on left as you pass the little ramp) and caught 6 cats on night crawlers fishing 4'-6' down. Put them out around 9 pm and picked them up about 5 am before we started bass fishing. Most were 2-3 lb range, biggest around 7 lb. Something different, but it was fun watcghing those noodles take off when your idling your boat up to them. Definately use YELLOW, had some purple and green, but the yellow was the easiest to see. Once we got all of our noodles we still had time for the topwater bite! Good luck

Don't know about a specific area, but I heard chicken strips soaked in Strawberry jello solution works best for bait......... Actually saw a boat put in at 9:00 ish and pull out at 11:30 pm as we quit early as wwell and they had both livewells full of cats.... Caught on the jello soaked chicken strips.....

P.s. They were fishing in a cove and said that the cats seemed to come up shallow after dark to feed and no need to fish deeper than 6 feet for them.....

Hope this helps, and let us know of the adventure's outcome, because your surely to have one for sure......
