    Were to go??

Looking to get out and do some fishing this weekend and Im coming up short with ideas of where to fish. I have a 16' jon boat that I recently got done doing some work on and making it more fishable. I have a 20hp motor on the back of it.
Ive taken it out to guist a couple of times now with no problems, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for some other lakes that would be manageable in this boat where I could get into some fish. Just dont want to deal with having to worry about getting swamped by cruisers.
Any and all help/opinions would be appreciated

    THanks in advance

Partner I'm sorry to tell ya but there is no way to hide from the cruisers this time of year if you go to a reasonable large lake. You can do the small no wake or big motor lakes, sometimes they can be pretty good. Your boat will be O.K. on a big lake just go real early or real late and plan your travel routes well and you'll be alright. Stay close to the shore's when traveling and be careful, Ive seen alot smaller rigs then yours out there just use caution. Dale Hollow has been on fire at times this year and word has it the night bite is good on Cumberland. Rough and Nolin has had some decent reports as of late also. Good luck if you go and report back when you return, where that PFD if you can just in case.

Appreciate the advice. Ive been thinking about either rough or nolin, just putting in at one of the ramps a little further upstream, like dog creek on Nolin or North Fork on rough. Those areas were alright to me about a month ago....so maybe ill give it a shot. Thanks

You think that I'd be alright with the jon boat on the river with all of the big boat traffic?? Id like to fish it, but Im a little wary to be completely honest

you can also put in at salt river and fish that area you never see any big boats in that river. you can fish right at the mouth where it meets the ohio and get all kinds of fish. i have sat there with live minnows and i think i got every type of fish in the river that day. the boat ramp is west point.

Thought about that....my gf lives about 2 miles from the ramp, didnt pay it much attention though b/c you cant go upstream at all due to fort know being right there. Am i wrong about this??

I guess i dont know how much of the river is downstream of that ramp before you hit the ohio...maybe have to check it out

i dont nkow how far upstream you can go it is a lil ways upthere tho. i bowfish that area and it is a good lil distance and there are signs telling you where the border is. there is a logpile in the middle of the river upstream from the ramp i have got some good bass out of it.

You could fish T-Ville. I would put in at Van Burren (SP) and fish that end of the lake and the river. Good luck Ryan.

It is a bit of a drive but Cedar Creek would be a good option.
