    Going Over Seas to Fish??

I have discovered a few things that may be of interest to some of you..

#1 Meijers will fill prescriptions for Cipro an Anti Bacterial anti Viral Drug used to fight Diahrheal type diseases... FREE with a prescription.
It is also the drug of choice for that stuff that went out in the mail a few years back. DO NOT TAKE Immodium if you get diahrhea over seas.. it is your body trying to shed the Virus.. keeping it in will make you sicker..

#2 Take Pepto Bismol with you. The Bizmuth in the stuff helps to fight Bacteria AND viruses.

#3 Take extra of everything you can not live without.. Like Sun Glasses, Prescription glasses etc.. there are no stores in the jungle..

That is about it.. I thought the FREE drugs was important I added the other so it would not be too short. I will try to do a video when I get back with doctors and some travel folks on what you should take with you.

Ciprofloxacin (cipro) is indeed the drug of choice for anthrax exposure. It will pretty much kick any bugs a$$, including e-coli. It is perhaps over-kill to take on a fishing trip but better safe than sorry!

Yeah but its free.. and when you are spending that kind of money on a trip.. you want to kick it in the A$$ and then knock it out and toss it in the grinder. Lingering illness can ruin a trip so if this works that good.. Oh yeah give me a ton of that..

If you are going with a group, make sure you call Meijer ahead of time. There are 11 of us heading to Africa in October and while we were in Louisville to get our shots at the travel clinic they sent us over there. The store wasn't prepared as they don't keep an abundance on hand and we had to wait almost 2 hours so they could track down some more. Not complaining about free meds, just call ahead and make sure they have enough in stock.

Here are a few more tips: If you smoke(not an endorsement) find out how many you can take with you to what ever country you plan to visit. You may be hit with culture shock when you walk in and ask for a $10.00 dollar pack of smokes. Also local brands do not remotely taste like the stuff you buy here, I don't know this first hand, since I am a non smoker but watching my platoon mates wretch after the first drag on a real turkish brand was a lot of fun for me any way. You might also want to take along a few barter items like a couple of pairs of blue jeans, bottles of Jim Beam, a few of the smokes we spoke about earlier. Also some hard candies and some cheap sun glasses. I have had to rely on little things like this to get us in and out of spots before, some times it is better to keep your wallet out of site untill there is no other choice. Also here are a few survival tips for some where besides the water or the field. buy yourself a second wallet put a couple of those fake credit cards you get in the mail all the time in the slots get five or ten bucks in ones and stuff them in there and fold some old paper scraps, and a couple of pictures of the family dog or what ever and make this look as much like you have carryed this thing for a while. Put in in your hip pocket carry your real one some where else as out of sight as possible and only pull it out in a safe place and only take out exactly what you need. That way if you do run into trouble you can throw the scum bag the decoy and he takes a quick look sees what he thinks is a haul and you can haul butt to the nearest safe place. This trick worked for me in Nurenburg Germany when I was still a wet behind the ears buck sergeant. Cheap timex watch, and leave the good bling at home, you are going there to hunt or catch your trophy, make sure you don't become one for a local bad guy. One other note make sure when you get ready to come back to declare the meds or get rid of them all together after all you do not want a customs agent say spread your cheeks cause he is not wanting to see your smile!

Good luck and bring back a PIC
