    green river (bowfishing)

we went out sat night and ended upo being a great night got a ton of fish and took a that has never shot a bow. he got three and one being a drum about 10 pounds. but for all you bass fishers man i saw some absoltly huge large mouths on main lake points. i wished i had a fishing pole me at the time. there where a few that went 8 pounds easy. we sawone fish right at daylight that had to be 5 foot long dont know what it was never seen a fish that huge. i have been out on the ohio river at night and spooked up some really big spoonbil but never anything like this. i was guessing a catfish as it was dark in color.i could niot get a shot off due to know knowing what it was for sure. we did see a few muskey just chillin at like 50 inches right on the bank.

Just curious as I have never been bowfishing and know nothing about it. You say you can see these fish, how exactly does this work? Using lights to bring them up or to spot them? Thanks in advance.

well i have a bass tracker 175 and i run 6 500 watt halogen lights around the front of my boat and a 3 k generator. i run the edges and shallow flats. and i use an old deer bow with a bowfishing reeler. there is a bowfishing arrow made of solid fiberglass arrow and a tip that is made for shootin fish. you would be surprised the fish you would see up on the bank at night.

What do you do with all the fish, like carp or drum?

That big ole fish was probably the Herrington pig monster.... I heard he took vacations down at green, or it could have been the notorious L.F.B. as i heard he was there in a tournament there ...... smelled clean the next morning at weigh-in.
Were you near Butler creek about 3 am??? I saw a big spotlight pointed towards the bank up that way and wondered what it was.....
