    Talking Trolling Above McAlpine Dam

Launched from the Fourth Street Wharf and took my wife out above McApline Dam today. While she was drinking beer and enjoying the scenery, I was trolling off the back of the boat with the pocket fisherman that I smuggled past security...all I caught was a Jet-Skier from Indiana and a disoriented duck. It was so hot that even Chuck Norris would sweat, but I'm afraid that the caliope music was scaring the fish...and the big paddle wheel kept getting in the way of my Rooster Tail. You think getting your line caught in a trolling motor is tough...

I finally gave up, bought a soft pretzel and a beer, and listened to a bluegrass band play a horrible rendition of Margaritaville. Other than that, their bluegrass was good.

I wore my official "Team Long John's" fishing hat and everything.

    Ahhhh, The Ohio River.

Trolling from the Bell of Louisville.. that must have been a wonderful experience. You had me worried talking about the beer at first but the Belle is a legal Alchohol location on the river so .. you did not self report yourself by accident..

We can drink on "their" boat, but we can't drink on "our" boat.
One beer on a hot day on the river is not going to get anybody injured, but it's still against the law if you're on your own boat.

Keep the Government off my stern!!!!!

PS When trolling off the Belle ya need a 6 ounce jig head!!!

Can you really self report yourself and legal action be taken after the fact?

OH MAN, WOULD YOU PLEASE LIGHTEN UP. I'm sending this via my blackberry, and am swigging on a Corona as I speak, dead in the middle of barren. Can't miss me, I'm the blue pontoon with the readhead sunny on the swim deck. Do you really think I can't get a DUI for busting a brew while on the trolling motor?

For felonies only. But then, only if Jim shows ID and passes a breathalizer.
