    Guist Creek later today...

Plan on doing some fishing after work today at Guist Creek... has anyone fished it lately and any luck??
I've personally never fished the lake but I'm taking my boat out today on it (barring the rain calms just a tad)
Whats works the best on the lake??

Havent been for a few months, but it seems to me that draggin jigs on mainlake points has produced the best for me the times I have fished that lake. Buddy of mine also caught a pretty good fish on a 10in worm last time out off of a rock bank near the dam. Ive never had great success out there, but there are some guys on here with some good info.
Good Luck and make sure to report upon return!!

Be very careful when you launch your boat as I talked to someone who fished the Sat night tournament and he told me that the boat trailers were dropping off the end of the ramp onto the chunk rock that was put in during the last low water period. Launching is not bad but when you load the boat and try to pull out you could possibly damage the trailer running gear should it get hung on the end of the ramp. Maybe this rain will help raise the water level in Guist Creek some as it is very, very low.

Stratos gave good advice that ramp is SO in need of repair. I camped at Guist as a kid with my parents for 17 years and that dang ramp was bad then, LOL. Summertime pattern on the creek is fish plastics and jigs in dark colors. Make your casts where everybody else has their boats going down the bank, in other words back way off and swim and sink them deep. This will catch you better fish and not so many dinks. That litle lake still has some gooden's in it but man does it get the pressure. Good luck if you go and please practice catch and release. Oh yea try a buzzbait around the camper docks at dusk, just don't ding any boats or you might get a tongue lashing or two, LOL.

Fished Sunday morning from daylight to noon and only had 4 bites but they were all of keeper size with the the best close to 4 lbs. Everything came on a TR lizard and off the bank about 25 feet. Good advice on the ramp. It is in terrible shape. Trailer will drop off big time and makes it tough to load the boat. The lake in general seems to be hit or miss. By that, I mean you either catch good fish or walk away scratching your head. Good luck !

well yesterday was definitely a big miss on Guist.. fished pretty much all the points and deeper banks along the stretch heading back to the dam and only got a few bites and caught one fish (it was only about 12" too) The lake is low but looks good, however, I couldn't get the fish to bite... Threw the kitchen sink at them too from buzzbait, spinnerbait, crank bait, worm, and mostly jigs and nothing

I'd say I'm shocked but I'm really not. Too hot, water is boiling, we need a break from this 100 degree heat, I'm freaking done with it badly.
